Salima Mahamoudou

Salima Mahamoudou is West and Central Africa Lead at the World Resources Institute (WRI). She defines WRI’s restoration strategy for francophone and Sahelian Africa, and future WRI-AFR100 engagement in dryland Africa. Mahamoudou plays a major role in advancing technical land restoration work in Francophone and Sahelian AFR100 countries, with main current focal countries including Niger, Cameroon, Ghana, and Nigeria. She conducts research, including on enabling policies to scale FLR, scaling pathways, and movementbuilding, while sharing insights to guide the WRIAFR100 team in defining its strategy and producing major research products. She received a MSc. in Climate Change and Low Carbon Development at the University College of London SOAS. Before that, she finished her studies at Green Mountain College, Poultney, with a B.S in Natural Resource Management and a B.S in Sustainable Business. Awards: FMRN-Excellence Award at the Beating the Famine Conference in 2019, Africa Union Diaspora Excellence Award by the African Union Commission in 2017 and 2018, Outstanding Policy Paper (2014) and Outstanding Delegate Awards (2015).
